Working regularly with the Tarot can lead to startling revelations on how to use the cards more effectively for guidance. Here is a helpful 6 card spread that is an ideal confirmation spread. Use it after you (or someone you are reading for) have intuited the seemingly correct answer to a problem/situation/circumstance.
First I'll give you the meanings of the card positions. Then we'll look at a real situation to see how the spread works.
| Card 1: | The Situation or Question | |
| Card 2: | What is Behind the Situation or Question | may be conscious or unconscious |
| Card 3: | The Probable Outcome | based on the Querent's current mind dynamics |
| Card 4: | THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER | this is the key card in the spread -- it gives information the Querent MUST consider honestly in terms of her question. |
| Card 5: | The Conclusion | tells what is likely to happen. The card will be positive if the Querent is honestly ready to ACT on the Truth of the Matter. Will be negative if the Querent rejects the Truth of the Matter |
| Card 6: | The Confirmation Card | confirms the Conclusion |
The Situation:
The Querent (female, age 50), strongly guided by her intuition, made some business decisions but an income from this business has not yet manifested. During a recent meditation she received additional information to improve the business service that felt correct. She came to me looking for confirmation.
QUESTION: Are my intuitions about my business correct or am I fooling myself?

Card 6- Confirmation KNIGHT OF DISCS |
Time after time I find the Tarot is extremely literal. The 1st card depicts Illusion/Delusion -- exactly what is on the Querent's mind. She wants to know if she's in touch with reality or fooling herself. THE TOWER in the second position accurately reflects recent "revelations" in the Querent's life. She has worked through some of her personal obstacles and felt she was finally getting some success with reprogramming herself -- getting rid of old beliefs that didn't serve her anymore. THE TOWER confirms this underlying process of tearing down the old to make way for the new.
Interestingly, the Probable Outcome card (card 3) is already "Abundance," a welcome sign. 3 OF CUPS also signifies nurturing, joyful relationships, which the Querent hopes will come through her business.
The Truth of the Matter card (card 4) is the key to the Reading. This card contains information the Querent MUST consider honestly in terms of her question. PRINCESS OF WANDS often reflects being faced with one's own fear. Fear is an illusion (False Evidence Appearing Real) held in the mind. The solution lies in the image. Notice the tiger is behind the Princess. She does not look at it. Rather she looks up for the inspiration, answers and solutions she knows are available to her. By doing so she dissolves the fear.
The Querent's fear of business failure must be faced and put "behind" her. PRINCESS OF WANDS reminds her that when she goes into fear mode, she must "take the tiger by the tail" so to speak and act in spite of her fear, focusing intently on what she wants to manifest, not on what she doesn't want. Then the inspiration and success she desires (Card 5 - ACE OF DISCS) will materialize.
ACE OF DISKS in the Conclusion position (Card 5) suggests that the
business will be successful within a one year period. KNIGHT OF DISCS often referred to as
'The Good Provider' is probably the strongest Confirmation card one could get when asking
a question of this nature.
