The Tarot does not lend itself to exact timing. This is likely because with the Tarot, the power is in the present moment. A Tarot Reading is like a snapshot of the dynamics occurring at the moment you ask the question. The future is fluid and open-ended and can be changed simply by changing your mind based on new information that leads to new decisions.
Still, people are always wanting to know "when" a certain event, circumstance, manifestation will take place. They want to know when they will meet their future husband/wife...when the money problems will clear up...when the new job will come through..when will they get pregnant, married, divorced, etc.
The best way to get this information is to use a spread that contains a built-in timing device. Several such spreads are contained in a variety of excellent books about the Tarot, or you may create your own personal spread to address the timing issue.
According to Trish MacGregor and Phyllis Vega, authors of Power Tarot, one quick method to the timing question is to pull cards until you reach an Ace. Before you pull the cards, decide if the Aces will represent days, weeks, months or years. Then count the number of cards you pulled before you came to the Ace.
Another method is to mix and draw a card from the Major Arcana, assigning the number 22 to The Fool. Depending on which card you pull, the answer will be 1-22 days, weeks or months. For example, if you ask "How many days before the check arrives?" and you pull XIV-Temperance, the indicated answer is 14 days. Be sure to choose the time frame before you ask the question.
Remember, the Tarot is dynamic and fluid. Like any other answer the Tarot gives, a time frame can be changed depending on intent and desire.
